Your finish time hides the real story of your race. Analysis reveals it.
A HYROX is eight runs, eight stations and the roxzone in between. Race analysis breaks all of it apart, split by split, to show exactly where your time went and what to do about it. Here is what that means, and how 8stations.ai reads it from your official results.

What is HYROX race analysis?
HYROX race analysis is the systematic breakdown of a finished race into its parts (the eight 1 km runs, the eight functional stations, and the roxzone transitions between them) to find exactly where you lose time and why. Instead of looking only at your finish time, it benchmarks every split against the field, ranks the limiters holding your race back by the time each one costs, and turns that into a clear order of next steps, biggest first. 8stations.ai does this automatically from your official results in seconds.
Most athletes look at one number. A race has hundreds.
Your finish time tells you what happened. It cannot tell you why. Race analysis treats the race as data (every run, every station, every transition) so the why becomes obvious.
Two athletes can cross the line in the same time and have run completely different races. One faded badly on the back-half runs and made it up on the sled. The other paced evenly but lost a minute in the roxzone. The clock says they are identical. The analysis says they need opposite things.
That is the whole point of reading a race properly: find the main thing costing you time and the others, and work through them biggest first, instead of training everything at once and hoping. It is the first thing a good coach does, and the first thing 8stations does the moment you import a result.
It is also where every training decision should start. read the race before you train it.

Three layers, read from one result
The moment you connect a race, the engine reads it the way an elite coach reads it, across three layers most tools never separate.
Runs & splits
The eight 1 km efforts, read under fatigue
Every run split is read in sequence, not in isolation, because HYROX running happens compromised, between stations. We track how your pace drifts from Run 1 to Run 8 and exactly where the fade begins to cost you.
- Per-kilometre pace across all eight runs
- Back-half fade vs your fresh-legs pace
- Each split ranked against the real field
Roxzone & transitions
The dead time most athletes never measure
The roxzone is where seconds quietly become minutes. We isolate the time between crossing the run mat and starting work (the transitions a finish time hides completely) so you can see the cost no leaderboard shows you.
- Total roxzone time across the race
- Slow transitions flagged station by station
- Where pacing decisions cost you time in the next effort
The eight stations
Every station, benchmarked against the field
Each station (ski, sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jumps, row, farmers carry, sandbag lunges, wall balls) is scored against comparable athletes. A "good" wall-ball time can still be the thing that cost you the PB; the heatmap shows it.
- A field-relative score for all eight stations
- Strengths and leaks shown as a heatmap
- The stations that move your finish most, biggest first
Anyone can describe a race. We read yours.
A generic AI tool works from what you type and has never raced. An 8stations read starts from your real data, and the judgement underneath it was earned on the start line.
It reads your real splits, not your description
A chatbot works from what you type. We import your official HYROX results and read every run, station and transition as raw data, so the read is grounded in what actually happened on the floor.
It ranks your limiters biggest-first, not a flat checklist
Chasing six weaknesses at once dilutes all of them. The analysis ranks your limiters by the time they cost, targets the single biggest leak first and works through the rest, and tells you straight, even when it is not the answer you wanted.
It benchmarks against the field
Your split only means something next to the field. Every score is ranked against comparable athletes, so a "fast" station is judged honestly instead of in a vacuum.
